Our mission is to provide cultural appropriate mental health support to the Rwandans, African, Caribbean, and Black communities living in Canada.

Beyond the Veil has been helping Rwandans living in Canada to “see beyond the past and re-imagine a future” of healing and hope through access to appropriate resources and support for their mental well-being. 

Our mission is to provide mental health and wellness services and support the African, Caribbean, and Black communities living in Canada through education and awareness of intergenerational trauma experienced by the community and to stimulate clinical and psychological research on best practices in the treatment of mental health challenges. Facilitating connections to valuable resources through collaboration and partnership with the Canadian government, mental health professionals, and organizations, Beyond The Veil aims to ultimately dismantle mental health stigma within African, Caribbean, Black communities, and other vulnerable groups through education accessibility. 

AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR WORK

365 BTV Program is the department of Beyond The Veil Mission that host all annual activities and services of Beyond The Veil Mission. Trauma healing could be a lifetime journey, but it is not a life sentence. There is life after trauma. 365 BTV program is Beyond The Veil’s mission, and we are working 365 days of the year to reduce the effect of Trauma in our community.

We believe that Trauma should not only be addressed to the events of crisis such as in April when we commemorate the Genocide against the Tutsi when we are fighting social injustices such as Black Racism, social inequalities. This needs to be an ongoing discussion 365 days out of the year. We look at every day out of those 365 days as days towards trauma healing.

Through the 365 BTV Program, we offer various services that contribute to everyday trauma healing and offer the knowledge to cope with the past traumatic events that our community members face, and issues that affect their well-being.

365 BTV Program services are: Get Beyond Programming; Gen365 Podcast; Isoko365 Annual Retreat; 365 Storytelling Program; Public Engagement; Therapy Services; Rwanda 365 Trauma Booklet; Educational Opportunity Annual Mission trip to Rwanda.
